Hansel and Gretel is campy fun that never shies away from what it is. People will either love or hate it, depending upon the way they feel about its modernized dialogue, gratuities gore, and over the top gadgetry. The additional help of the film’s tone, along with wonderfully appropriate performances by Renner, Arterton, and Janssen, helped sell me on a film that could have gone south quicker than a prom dress.
