Halo 5 has gotten a lot of grief for the campaign.  It did have a bit of misleading marketing leading up to its release and surprisingly little Master Chief, but as for the story itself … it was okay.  Certainly not on the same level as The Last of Us, but I would say it’s up there with most tent-pole Hollywood flicks.  And–really–nothing I saw in Halo 5 was as bad as when the giant, tentacle creature appeared in Halo 2.  Sheesh. I understand some of the criticism, but it’s not that bad.  And any science fiction that we can get with a healthy dose of Nathan Fillion is totally worth the price of admission.

Netflix’s Jessica Jones manages to do what Blade Runner never did: successfully blend noir with another geeky genre and have it be nothing short of spectacular.  It’s tightly structured, but still feels organic.  It has attitude without being obnoxious.  Style without being gimmicky.  Fun without being cheesy.  And a villain that is super-interesting, but doesn’t steel the limelight away from the main character. If you haven’t checked out J-Jo, do yourself a favor.  Put the rest of the Internet down and fire up Netflix.  Immediately.
